Are You Ready To Buy A Cat?

Do You love your sofas?
If your possessions and furnishings are valuable to you, then cats may not be such a good idea.  Pets don't understand the value of anything. You'll get hair on things, scratches, chew-marks etc.

Do have young children?
Young are very energetic and may accidentally hurt your pets. This doesn’t mean that you cannot get a cat with but you will need to supervise your child at the cat all the time.

Are you buying a cat for yourself or the family?
If your cat is a family pet, remember that one person needs to take ultimate responsibility for it.  If your cat makes a mess or is sick then it's unlikely your children will be able to help. 

Do you have time for a cat?
Cats may be independent, but they still need your attention and timeWhilst you an leave your cats alone for lnog periods of time, they are social creatures and it is not fair to abandon them when you are busy.  By ignoring your cat, you may end up seeing behavioral problems in it.

Do you act impulsively?
Most people like a little excitement and spontaneity in the life.   If you love traveling at a moments notice then you'll now need to plan ahead to have cat-sitters available.

Can you afford a cat?
Consider these expenses before you consider a cat …  vet bills, food, supplies, toys, grooming, and boarding (as needed).  You'll need to pay for vaccinations and you'll also need to have money for emergencies too.
